unable to detect a graphics environment

I have installed IC5141 on debian sarge. It works fine.
Then I installed debian and IC5141 for a friend of mine.
But this time wavescan couldn't be started. When I ran wavescan, I got the error message:
Error: unable to detect a graphics environment
Please check the DISPLAY environment variable.
It shouldn't be that environment variable DISPLAY is inproperly set because any other x program can be started.
Who can help me?
Thanks in advance.

change JRE in (.../tools/jre)
It is problem of old JRE so that you should download new JRE and make symbolic link

rm .../tools/jre
ln -s [newer JRE path] jre
