Hey

I am trying to find Lambda for an NMOS and PMOS using HSPICE library file. Can any one tell me how to do this?

Re: Lambda in Hspice

Usually i use next simple method: I build Id(Vds) plot, get two point in saturate region and calculate lamda whith next equation:
Lambda = (Id1-Id2)/(Vds1*Id2-Vds2*Id1)

This equation you can conclusion form basic Id=b(Vgs-Vt)^2*(1+Lamda*Vds)

For example Lambda = 0.052

Lambda in Hspice

Dear sadegh
you can find lambda just in level 1 model.
because lambda is function of transistor length and many things else.
MikeR's solution is a good way.
regards

Re: Lambda in Hspice

Thanks for your reply, just one more question, I checked the level 1 info given and I couldn't find anything useful.

Is there a special name or symbol for lambda?

Re: Lambda in Hspice

I re looked my library and there was no Lambda. but thanks. (I have attached the library file in case you are interested.)
