need digital/analog compass

For my robotics project i need a low cost digital/analog compass.I found datasheet 1450 digital compass but it will detect only 8 direction.I saw datasheet of 1525 of analog devices but it didn't give its resolution.So please help to find a good low cost compass.
 

Take a look at the HMR3100 Honeywell digital compass :

Another option is the KVH1000 module (plenty of info on the NET) ..

As far as reliable compasses are concerned let's make on thing clear: you get what you paid for ..

I would not see spec of this module, but I think it's not bad.....
 

I use a CMPS03 with resolution of 0,1° and controlled by I²C. It wasn't even cheap but it "brings light" to coordination of my robot.
