hello
measuring NF in mixer in low IF Rx...IF=2MHz.....
what number should i monitor (report it)?
at the IF frequency ...?at flicker corner ....? the white NF ../
what about if the Flicker corner > my IF frequency
is the mixer operation is right (accepted) in low IF Rx if flicker corner larger than the IF used "if the NF at the IF is lower than required specs" am i right ...?
knowing that when i try to push the flicker corner lower than IF the linearity go worse ...
thanks in advance

Re: mixer question ..

Have you tried the following paper?

"A noise cancellation technique in active RF CMOS mixers"

Re: mixer question ..

yes , it pushes flicker noise but very poor linearity
specs to me Av=15dB..IIP3=0dBm ....NF <<20dB
the propsed paper didn't give me the gain i want
did you make thhis paper ..?
is it accepted to operate byond the filcker corner?

Re: mixer question ..

I haven't tried this paper before

Did you try to decrease current in the switching quads by a constant current source ( so you can increase load resistors and hence gain? )

I think that as long as you achieve the desired NF over the band of interest, then it's OK. I think system design should better answer this question
