My instructor said that there will be PSPICE questions in the exam and we have to study it by ourselves...And I'm lost...can someone tell me how to start?

Which SPICE simulator are you using?

They are all mostly the same, construct the schematic and you can place probes to check node voltage and branch currents that's the most basic part in analog mode. Of course you can fo a lot more than that eg. transient analysis and Bode plot, FFT,temperature.....

The point of SPICE is that it can predict and simulate the circuit result without having to build it physically, start by building a circuit then you can explore the function of the software to see what they offer. Each software varies in function/capability and there are different SPICE specifically for different areas too, what area are you exactly preparing for?

I think following two books are enough for you!

1. Microsim Pspice for Windows : A Circuit Simulation Primer Dc, Ac, and Devices and Circuits by Roy W. Goody
2. Microsim Pspice for Windows : Operational Amplifiers and Digital Circuits
by Roy W. Goody

Get this books and download psspice eval copy from Microsim site
and workout!

Hi,

First, if you dont have access to any pspice software, download the eval vesion included in Orcad 10.0 :

h**p://www.orcad.com/download.orcaddemo.aspx

or download the student standalone 9.1 version :

h**p://www.101science.com/Swelectronics.htm

Second, find some good tutorial over the net, like this one :

h**p://www.ee.umn.edu/groups/hkn/resources/spice/PSpiceTutorialHKN.pdf

or this one :

I hope that this perhaps helps!

Find some pspice code and schematics of that code. And Try to understand these sample codes by reffering to a pspice reference.
