need a project title

hi freinds,

I'm currently doing my MS in EE engg.I've to decide my final project for my degree.I'm planning to do something in VLSI+networking.I was going through the differnt hardware architectures of intel,cisco,IBM network processor.But i'm stll vague in choosing a topic.Can you guys plz suggest me a topic in VLSI+networking area.

I think wireless sensor networking can be a good choice. There are lot challenges in architecture, power aware routing,.....

Some of projects i can think of are :- (VLSI + NETWORKING )

1. Designing of error correcting codes (with more number of bits than existing modules) as per some protocols in VLSI.

2.Implementation of 802.11,802.12 modules.

3.Work on Intergrated optics (if you are intereseted in optical communication).

4.Imporved performance GSM,CDMA IC's like PN code generator,DSP etc.

the design of vlsi chip for fuzzy logic is a new topic and sweets amaster but for wirless network i think it is the level of phd. there is a book in this forum about fuzzy cmos search in the forum for this book.

Hi, you may try to implement a network protocol in ASIC, say OIF-SPI5.
