I have Windows Xp.
I have to use TurboC++ as an academic requirement. It was working fine. And then one day, when i turned it on, it did not start as usual. Instead, there was a grey screen with the mouse pointer available only. I have tried uninstalling and reinstaling it again but it again goes to the same grey screen.

Anyone, having any idea what might be the problem?

Some quick questions first:
1. Is TurboC installed using an installer program or is it just in a folder on the disk that you run from?
2. How did you un-install?

Initial suspicion - the un-install process does not remove configuration settings from the registry or other place so when you re-install, it remembers those which means it doesn't fix it.

I'm also assuming that this PC does a lot more than just TurboC.

it is better if you can post your screen shots for more clear the error

This is the blue screen turbo c++ we are talking about rite?
Is any thing happening when u press Alt +Enter or Ctrl+Enter keys?
May be something changed ur Dos program capabilities.
As someone else has mentioned, take a screen shot or take a pic of the screen and post here. Please
Ashish
