i copied the code from engineersgarage.com and checked its functioning on proteus but on hardware implementation nothing is displayed just backlight seems to be glowing. i have used JHD12864e .Also 18th pin(Vee) is showing only +0.3 v. can anyone help me?

Don't Worry..
I will give you the code when i reach home...

I had used the JHD12864E and interfaced with PIC16F877a..

Till then u upload your code and Schematic Diagram

i actually used 8051,code seems to be rnning correctly on proteus.

I'm not sure whether my glcd is wrkin because i accidently gave pin no. 18 +5v for a short while.

I think your code is Okay....

But if it is possible for u to give the Circuit Diagram (Schematic) so that i can know how you connect your hardware...

As I am also using JHD12864E and its working for me....

Have you used a potentiometer between Vout Pin and VEE

Measure the Voltage on Vee pin.. i think it must be negative..
Check that and report back...
