Hi,

In Altium, Miscellaneous Devices.IntLib has one part named Trans3. I want to do little modification on the part drawing like changing dot places on transformer.
But I don't want to draw whole part from beginning. Is there a way to modify symbol as I wish and save as a different part into my SchLib file?
I created a new part in my schlib and try to copy past, didn't help.

Thank you.

What exactly didn't work? You either copy whole Component (go to the library window which list components, right click, Copy, go to the your library, right click on the window which list components in your library, right click and Paste) or you copy just Schematic symbol itself (go to the library window where you see the symbol, select symbol and CTRL+C, then go to your library, create new component and press CTRL+V insert the symbol)

I have just placed the symbol that I needed to my schematic, and copied from there and then tried to paste it to library editor after adding a new part there. What is the proper way?

when you are opening intlib, you have an option to extract SchLib and PCBlib - use this. It will create Schlib and Pcblib from the intlib

yes after opening the intlib file then copying from library editor to editor did the job.
Thank you.

When you had it place on your scehmatic you could have used Design --> Make Schematic Librar. To create a library from all the parts currently on the Schematic.

Better Late than never.
Chris.

This is nice command also. Thanks for the trick:p

I gone through this Posts & thread. It is really helpful to edit Schematic & footprint library which is supplied from Altium.
Open Schematic>Design>Make Schematic Library.
Thank you PCBcomponentlibraries.
