hi all
what is meant by

1)copolarisation and cross polarisation patterns of an antenna??
2)E-theta, E-phi, E-left and E-right and how Users can interpret them as Copol or Crosspol for their specific situations
3)resonat and non resonant patch
4)and how to download free ieee papers
regards
kartik

Copolarisation is the polarisation in the desired direction and that opposite to it is cross polarisation.Cross polarisation should be very low. While designin an antenna, copol should be high and xpol components shoulb low compared to copol.relatin E-theta, E-phi, E-left and E-right depends on ur desired direction of pol nd antenna.

hi all
4)and how to download free ieee papers
kartik

If you are in a uni, the chances are your library has a subscription. Often you need to be on a campus computer, or otherwise appear to be on campus - log into a server there.

If you are in a company, then get them to pay for you to join the IEEE and get the antennas and propogration society. That will get you 95% of the papers you need for antennas.

If everyone downloaded papers for free, the IEEE would not exist and we would have no papers to download. I, and many others on this list have subscriptions, but I'm not willing to give you the papers for free.

on a two layer board if i place microstrip antenna on top layer and pour ground plane just below the antenna (on bottom layer) then will it degrade signal strength? i am working on quadband gsm frequency.

microstrip antenna

Please be more specific with your question.

"Microstrip" refers to a line type, with signal line over ground plane. But what do you mean with "microstrip antenna"? Patch antenna? The patch antenna needs ground below. Or do you mean some other PCB antenna, like F-antenna? There you have to remove the ground underneath the radiator.

thank you for the answer
can you please tell me for a pcb antenna, like F-antenna, does signal strength depends on antenna length or antenna area? suppose we have two pcb antenna (straight line), one is of length 1cms long and 20 mil wide and another is 2cms long and 10mil wide, then which one will have better signal strength among the two.
