Re: Antenna Gain Calculation
I got the values of S21 Mag in the order of 1E-3 and S21 Ang as say -170 i.e.
S21 Mag: 1E-3 and S21 Ang : -170.
Now do I have to covert the Ang to phase in rad? or how else will I get the dB?
or do I just have to take the S21 Mag raw value 1E-3 in the eqn for...
Antenna Gain Calculation
Hi, I need to calculate the Radiation Pattern of an antenna. I got S21 Mag and Ang data of the antenna from VNA by measuring the AUT with a standard horn.
Now, how do I calculate the gain of Antenna. What are the conversions of S21 Mag and Ang in dB. How to calculate...
The simulation results shows 4-6 dBi directive gain and -12 to -25 dB Realized gain for the whole band of a dual fed antenna.
Will it work? or how to increase the Realized gain?

Hi,
Thanks for the lead. But when I take rE total, for a constant theta and phi, the phase in degrees is again zero.
When I take rE Phi or rE theta there is some variation in phase.
So,
1. how would I know which one is correct? rePhi or rE theta?
2. The zero crossover for the phase in degrees...
How do I get the mag and phase of gain as a function of frequency in HFSS?
I'm defining and fixing Theta and Phi and when I sweep the frequency for calculating Gain, I get only the mag BUT the Phase in deg is always zero... How to resolve this?
Please help!!!

Hi,
I'm using 2 coax probes for differential feeding.
Now how do I define the waveports and integration line to ensure that the feed is differential and there is a phase shift of 180 degrees betweeen the sources?
If I deembed both the ports then I think there is no phase shift. Am I right...
