before you hook up power, and your not sure of which wire is the start of each winding, check with ohm meter. You want them in series, so dc resistance must
be at least 2 x the resistance of a single winding. If you make a mistake and connect parallel and power up, serious risk of damage to the...
go to either digikey or mouser website, search MOSFET, then device parameters you would look for say Vgs breakdown ~10-12V, choose RDSon low value,
choose continuous drain current. Prices vary, generally, lower RDSon => more $
you need to check with the datasheet, how "on" it is at 5V - aka...
I use a small butane flame, and run it along the ferrite. Use welding gloves to hold the piece. Ferrites come apart with good success - about 95%.
Alternatively a 100W solder iron can be used to heat up the ferrite, its a bit less successful.
yes, sorry, threw me off as to how to assure your comparator was going to switch on the current limit transistor, the base voltage needs to be higher than the emitter.
Looking at the internal circuit, current from the error amp is limited by a 1k resistor.
On the other hand current to the...
How low current do you want to limit to? Your using a AD622, <100uV Offset, so unless you need limit at 1mA, advise to decrease shunt resistor, or use a cheaper diff amp,
because it seems a waste there. The current sensor should be moved to the input before the series voltage reg IMO.
Can't see...
reluctantly I must admit to a measurement error, lol. Whilst I connected the scope probe earth lead to the indicated position (-Ve bat terminal), I forgot about the earth lead from the
scope still connected to the ground circuit of the pulser, so the scope sees ground loop current of sorts. That...
I am trying to understand an aspect of my measurement of a current pulse into a battery.
so the oscilloscope ground is at the battery -Ve terminal. The pulse is from a capacitor being dumped.
so the negative going Ch B which is the voltage across a resistor shows a direction I understand -...
Generators also have an enormous amount of inertia to handle the dynamic load of the grid (because usually weigh several hundreds tons of rotating mass).
Greenies dream of shutting off the generators, and it would seem they have convinced the general stupid public that that is possible.
The...
what your reading from the text file each line is not a integer! rather your reading a string of characters 7 or 8 digits followed by a newline.
you need to read each line, then convert it to a integer. BTW, if this is on a PC, I assume so, interger is same as long -32bits
so suggestion is...
JS, before you posted did you even bother to watch Lawrence Krauss's lecture? Which is what post #1 is about!! if you had, you would learn that the WMAP (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe) launched in 2001, and from a orbital position that held the earth to shadow the sun (as the sun is a...
I think the template example could be improved by showing sample of each state having a decision point that chooses the
next state. As such the example is just a sequential set of states that many just don't get why bother.
I've been programming for a long time, and outside the engineering...
I think I know your problem. I too sometimes use recycled inductors from tv boards, BUT you need to be careful, some are only useful as filters and
are saturated inductors. Hold some iron metal near them, does it attract strongly - you won't be able to use this as a high frequency inductor as...
