Does anyone have the .sat or .step file of the 3D model of a capacitor that they can share with me? I am looking for a model that includes the capacitor plates, dielectric material, leads and all. Thanks in anticipation

phase center with hfss
Hi Guys,
Does any one have experience with finding the phase center of an antenna using IE3D or HFSS. I will appreciate your insights on this or if you upload any publications or recipes that are useful for this.
Thanks,

We mostly use the CIRCULAR plots in the attached pdf file without worrying about how they are derived, does anybody know a quick way to generate them including both the H-lines and E-lines. I have seen how to do the E-lines for the TE modes and the H-lines for the case of TM modes, but to...
Hi all,
To the Microwave Theory gurus:
What is the easiest way to produce the contour plots of the transverse E field and H field of a metallic waveguide of arbitrary cross section (e.g. circular, elliptical, rectangular, etc) for the various TE and TM modes (possibly using Matlab or any...
Re: A Paradox in Geometry
Thanks Kral. I was using Matlab to compute E(e) and I just realized that the parameter that Matlab requires is the modulus of the elipticity e
Re: A Paradox in Geometry
Thanks Kral. I had used the second formula [p = 4aE(e)] but my worry is that the perimeter of the ellipse (a =8.0, b =7.5) comes out to be less than that of a circle of radius 7.5. This is counter intuitive so I'd like to verify my calculations or have an explanation...
A Paradox in Geometry
Can someone compute the exact value of the perimeter of an ellipse of semi major axis a = 8.0 m and semi minor axis b = 7.5 m and tell me the results? From my calculations, the answer is less than the perimeter of a circle of radius 7.5 m, which I think does NOT make sense...
Hi all,
I am wondering how to define a stripline in HFSS. Suppose I have a strip sandwiched between two ground planes, how do I defined a single lumped port for this stripline set up? Do I have to draw two integration lines originating from each of the ground planes? Do I need more than one mode...

Hi everyone,
I will like to obtain a 3D polar plot of the near-fields (on a near-field sphere) of an antenna in HFSS but I am interested in the Htotal component. However, under report type "near-field", only the E field components are available. So my question goes... Can someone tell me how to...
I will like to obtain a data table of the Complex NearEtheta and Complex NearEPhi values on a near field sphere around my antenna in HFSS. However, HFSS gives me only real values for these quantities when I attempt the Near field Plot. I don't know what the real values stand for...whether they...
Hey. I had the same problem before.
Matlab actually does a great job with this. You should download user-provided code called mmpolar and it would do the trick for you.
Search for "mmpolar" in www.mathworks.com and you would be smiling>
