weird schematics
I've found the schematics and can scan it for you if you haven't found it yet. I think the link is still awailable but it doesn't include all the schematics.
My power supply had a damaged HPIB board, I just had to put some jumpers to short it and now everything works perfectly.
marantz 2330 speaker relay
I think banjo is right, there is no direct influence of the volume on this relay, it turns off the output stage in case of overvoltage and/or overcurrent.
I would say, some dead capacitor or transistor - looks like it takes time to the FB circuit to set the right...
are these user manuals or service manuals ?

I'm trying to repair my power supply right now, and
without it it seems to be rather complicated.
Connecting of the battery to voltage regulator will not work, you'll have to use some IC - Li-Ion battary charger.
There is some special charge curve, if you don't supply it correctly, either you ruin your battery or explode it.
Universal battery charger is a good sugestion
The problem is, you can never use your stereo amp as differential power amp as soon as the circuit is connected, it will keep it constantly off.
By the way, if your power amp class B or AB it doesn't take much power, it's only usefull with class A
I guess you can not use it.
With input capacitance ~5pF you'll get fc<1MHz
If your frequencies that low, choose another amp
This one is designed for low impedance lines, hundreds of ohms
I think, that if you find second harmonic in your signal, it's caused by the common mode signal and nonlinearity of the stage. You can not see CM signal itself when you have differential signal at the input because of CMRR
