Get the PIC do do all the work....
Do a search on google for "linistep"
If you are willing to try another micro then look in this and last months Circuit Cellar mag... there is a project to drive 4 steppers using the chips you want to use. The mags are available on the board.
Since you have the powder go ahead...but next time try the Hydrochloric Acid and Hydrogen Peroxide mix....its much cleaner and doesnt corrode everything in sight.
I can't remember the mix though...maybe someone can assist? I think it used to be on the instructions of a Positiv 20 can...

Hi all
Do any of you play with model trains and have built your own DCC decoders?
I found some PIC designs, but since I am more comfortable with AVR's I was wondering if anyone has already build an AVR based decoder before I reverse engineer / port a PIC one.
Re: Is Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS3 compatible with EDA tool
Many tools may indeed also run on non AS versions like Fedora etc.
I have gotten away many times with simply modifying /etc/redhat-release to that of a Advanced Server. Of course then you cannot expect support :)
Re: Is it difficult to program AVR MCU using Assembly langua
Well, if you already code in ASM on 8051 then all you really need is an Instruction set update :)
Have a look here..

Hi
I wanted to do something similar.
Look over at **broken link removed** under AVR Hardware. Somthing like this is nice because the people can learn on it but also use it for further experimentation afterward.
Another option would be to make a clone of the (now obsolete) Atmel STK200
+pic12f675 +digital power supply
I have always wanted a digital controlled supply, but was wondering - how do these variable switched mode supplies work - I hate bulky transformers :-)
Do they have a fixed voltage switched mode followed by a linear stage or is it a complete switched design?

I havent seen this link on Elektroda so...
**broken link removed**
may be of interest to someone...
Am I understanding this correctly....there is no way to program a device directly out of AVR Studio via a simple ISP interface...it must be done through the Atmel ISP...
Re: Starting DSP
I would like to add to this, since maybe it will help Doogle and myself...
PC soundcards are more than capable today, some with 96k sample rates. Is there a site with code / tutorials on getting started with DSP programming using sound cards?
Hi all
I want to speed control my lathe at home. I am not a wizz in power electronics. Other than gating a SCR or something like that is there a more intelligent way to control the speed of an AC motor, or would it be better to rather look for a DC replacement?
Some (Redhat, SUSE) are 'commercial' distributions
Mandrake is basically a Redhat distribution but more community driven
SUSE is popular in Europe
Redhat is popular in the US
Remember: Linux is the kernel and all distributions have the same kernel (usually tweaked, but the source is the same.)...
