You could also use a fully differential opamp with gain boosting to get 1GHz.

You may also want to look at the common mode return ratio (i.e. neg. of the loop gain) to determine the stability of the opamp. If the R and C for the CMFB circuit are not selected correctly, this could cause CM oscillations and the amplifier to go unstable even though in the differential case...

Yes, but the Gm-C filter has limited dynamic range and may suffer from linearity issues. You may want to use a fully differential transconductor. As well, the capacitor may have to be tuned if you need a very accurate 3dB bandwidth.
For back of envelope calculations...
I've used Semcad with acceleration and saw significant speed up for simulations in all cases including PML and dielectrics. Seems to me that the entire Semcad feature set is accelerated by the hardware.
