working video editor - Tried PiTiVi and Kdenlive 0.7.8

Cinelerra seemed a bit intimidating to me (novice in video editing). Very powerful and serious. I'll second OpenShot. It was much easier for me and for the simple editing I was up to. There is also LIVES, but I haven't really done anything with it

    Linux distribution for Electronics Engineers

CEELD is made with Suse Studio. I didn't use upstream packages other than those available in official and contributed repositories. I've made CEELD because I liked SuseStudio and it made it so easy for everyone to make a unique "appliance" - a linux system with selected applications only...

@mrflibble: Thank you! I didn't know about SAGE. I have not used it at all. I have already Scilab installed, I think is enough for every EE task you can put it to do... Should I use Sage because of python scripting? I had eaglecad installer (for the user to opt for it) included in previous...

In a later release I will add some more things, probably gcc-arm as well. In the mean time there is a newer release out... Check CEELD and test the distribution if you have time. I want to hear from people testing CEELD. Any feedback about things working or not working as expected, is...

Thanks bluehole, actually the excellent FEL gave me the "inspiration" for this... CEELD is not targeted to the microchip designer at all like FEL. It is more or less for the majority of electronic engineers around the globe who deal with devices rather than chips. Although HDL languages are or...

    Linux distribution for Electronics Engineers

Sorry Takeshi-san, baudline is not included. It is not in the repos either. It must be installed separately! (probably from source code...) List will come in a later post soon. edit: I see that baudline has an appropriate executable (32 bit intel) provided at its site. No problem then. And...

    Linux distribution for Electronics Engineers

Hello everybody! I'm trying to make a flavor of SUSE Linux for Electronics Engineers. A lot of useful apps for us will be installed by default and newer ones can be installed from the repositories. It is made with **broken link removed** and is based on OpenSuse 11.3 I have made progress, it...
