Hello, It seems that your manual has little typing error. I think the voltage selector should be adjusted to 500mv/div...

    transformer secondary voltage question

Hello, If I got a mains transformer with dual secondary windings how can I get a constant uninterruptible voltage from the other winding even if the other winding is shorted? Does both secondaries go to 0 volts if one of them is shorted (both have same number of turns)? If they do how can I...

Do I need to limit the LED current if it's a load of optocoupler?

Hello! If I got an optocoupler which CTR is 100-200% and I limit the input current to 5mA for example so max. collector current is 5-10mA. If a load is LED I don't need any extra resistors to limit the LED current? Am I right? teepee

PCB decal which has 2 different pin patterns and 1 component in schematic

Re: PADS Question Hello and thanks for reply. I meant that I need to design a PCB where is one footprint for two different component. That component might be from manufacturer#1 or manufacturer#2. Those components have different pcb pin pattern so I need an "adapter" decal. I understood that...

PCB decal which has 2 different pin patterns and 1 component in schematic

Hello! If I want to create pcb decal which has two different components pin pattern and there is only one component in schematic, how can I do that? I mean that pcb decal has double number of pads than component actually have. Do I create a component in part editor with all extra pins NC-type...

What happens if we exceed output voltage ratings of SSR?

Re: Voltage ratings But is there any difference if the control is on or off? The voltage is nearly 400VAC when the relay is OFF-state. There is one relay connected to first phase voltage and another relay connected to second phase voltage. Relays are controlled separately so phases are...

What happens if we exceed output voltage ratings of SSR?

Hello! If I have a SSR with output voltage rating of 240VAC. Is it gonna blow if the voltage across output terminals is above 240VAC when there is no control voltage. I mean that the relay is not turned on. When the relay gets control signal then the voltage is max. 240VAC. Teepee

How to calculate switching energy affected by gate resistor?

but.. Thanks for replies. I think the Figure 77 in HCPL-316J datasheet put me into confusion. There is a plot "Switching Energy vs. Gate Resistance". I think that plot shows how much energy is generated in IC output buffer transistors with different gate resistor values.

How to calculate switching energy affected by gate resistor?

switching energy? Hi! If I switch voltage to Mosfet or IGBT gate, it charges gate capacitance and takes certain amount of energy. How does it affect If there is gate resistor which restricts current flow. I know it decreases the switching energy but what is the equation to calculate it?

    Producing frequencies

Hello! I need to produce a 20kHz-30kHz frequency window and I'm wondering what would be suitable way of doing this. The frequency should be digitally controlled (eg. 8-bit) and it would be good if the whole 8-bit resolution is in the 10kHz range (30kHz-20kHz). Thanks if someone come up with...

help on lcd interfacing using PIC16f877

Hello! Look at the page hxxp://home.iae.nl/users/pouweha/lcd/lcd2.shtml There is basic principles and asm-codes for 16F84. I think it's not a big deal to implement it to another PIC. TeePee

Generating signal which frequency is 30x faster than input!

Generating frequencies? Hello! I need to generate a signal which frequency is 30 times faster than the input frequency and I would like to know has anybody any ideas how to do it. The output frequency should be synchronised in certain point with input frequency. The maximum input frequency...
