[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

Does anybode had tested if USB led should be connected to RC1 or RC2 ?

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

Can anybody explain why use LM385 (IC4) instead of transistor for Vpp?**broken link removed** And there is very nice solution for program-only-mode, T2 and T3 do it

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

@potyo: I think that these two identical ICD2 I've made from PICS schematic are done well. I use the same bootloader that you have posted , but with MCLR turned off, checksum 0x728d. Only L1 is removed. Here is the log from switching from one OS to another, it happens not always, I switched...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

Has anybody fix for this error ? : ICD0029: Connected tool is not an MPLAB ICD 2: Product ID = 0x0 (MPLAB ICD (1)) It happens when switching between "operating systems" but not allways. I think it has to do with some part of OS. But what? After this error connecting to target is not...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

@potyo: Why do you use 74hct125 and 74hc126 buffers connected parallel? It doesn't make any sense. Secondly, what for do you use LT1172 instead of MC34063 ? MC34063 is cheaper and has enough power. Thirdly, what for are these additional resistors for these buffers? When I look at V1.1 or v2.3...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

Use Winpic with JDM, large list of supported PICs, even option to make it work with new ones by editing ini file Added after 4 minutes: Waiting a moment before pluging in helps. About 10-20 seconds

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

What you mean " everything is unstable"? Remove coil at power supply, make simply short-circuit. It gave for me 0.250V drop, I've used wrong type of coil . And don't touch the circuit. It's not for touching :-) Besides it works as it works. No problem with anything for me , tested on...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

In original ICD2 it's used for logic level conversion since it's powered from 5V and rc3-5 in 16f877 are Schmit triggered. And 74HC126 is used to make logic states for target at Vdd_icsp . But I don't understand what for is the second ICSP socket (or place for it) in this original ICD2 here...

ICD2 USB clone - how to get it to work with 3.3V PIC24s ???

74ahc125 74ahct125 None of the things you were explaining in yout last post were necessary, sorry. :D So Vpp isn't mentioned in pdf. And state HIGH for MCLR is 3.3 and 5V for programming. EOT Looking in to the schematic of original ICD2 , and this let say "clone" ( ), one cut in pcb and one...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

what pcb? you must check soldering, shortcuts etc. It runs smoothly. Only yesterday I got message that this is not original ICD2.

ICD2 USB clone - how to get it to work with 3.3V PIC24s ???

pic vdd low icd2 I understand whole thread. 5V on MCLR will fry this chip and Mplab does not say a word about it

ICD2 USB clone - how to get it to work with 3.3V PIC24s ???

connect 24f to icd2 I don't see any problem with programming or debugging with this ICD2 (BC547/557 transistors). Only few resistors and it will work. By the way, 5V for dspic33 and pic24 on MCLR is too much, but why ICD2 doesn't say anything about it ? In datasheet Vih max for MCLR is 3.3V...

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

I understand now. But the source of low state is derived from RC2 that can supply not too much and not directly from Vss

[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

I think that DC/DC is so simple circuit that there is no need to simplify it more. And with MCLR resistor you are right, current should be limited. But for what value? You are saying that chip could latch-up? I mean it is then locked or something? I'm just trying to reanimate pic16f877a ...
