attenuator... does it mean that pin 6 like audiguru mentioned is to make the phototranaistor less sensitive to the light signal it gets from the LED ????

going trough this photocoupler data sheet LTV-4N35, i can't find any information about Pin-6, the output transistor base pin. why is information like the BETA not mentioned if they have provided a pin for the base ?

But i don't see how this will work if a switch was used between V and the power source supplying the V. The circuit would be open and the capacitor wouldn't be able to discharge. Please correct me if i am wrong.

This is a simple RC delay circuit. Only problem is what is the way to make the capacitor discharge when the power is removed ???. Using a resistor would be a very slow way to discharge the cap.
I got the picture :grin:. But why does the brightening occurs, is it because of the mosfet capacitvily charging up and as it does that the LED gets brighter ?

I made a simple circuit which works great except one thing. The problem is with the LED, when the MOSFET kicks in without a load on it except the indication LED, the LED works fine (no dimming), when i connect another load to the MOSFET like a small relay, it works fine except the LED now...
