Is there a way to calculate overall PCB thermal resistance or thermal conductivity of a PCB based on the PCB stackup information? I would like to use this input in thermal analysis of the PCB. Thanks.
Hi,
Under which design conditions, we need to add the series resonant capacitor in phase shifted full bridge converters? "Cb" marked in yellow in the image below:

There are many reference designs which doesn't have additional resonant capacitor but only resonant inductor if the leakage...
Yes. I am using LT3722 from AD which has SR controller built in but I wasn't sure if it is able to allow delay for the body diodes to turn on and achieve soft switching. However, I will test and check if it does that. Thanks again for helping me understand. Cheers!
Got it! Thanks. Is there any off the shelf controller available to implements this control strategy? Alternatively, in case there is no controller available then is there any reference papers or application note available that you're aware of? It would be quite helpful.
What is the control method of an inverter to transition from Active short circuit mode to PWM operation mode while the motor is spinning at high speed without causing an overvoltage on the DC link?
Hello All,
Does anyone has an example source code of initializing NCV78763 LED driver? I have ONSEMI's SPI driver library. Need some help if there is an example code describing the usage of the driver. If anyone has already implemented them - please let me know. Note: This is only for learning...
For an error amplifier, the stability is defined based on the response of the amplifier for a range of sine wave frequencies.
However, when we have DC-DC conversion - linear or switching, when the source is pure DC, what is the source of AC frequency at the input of the error amplifier?
For...
I am working on a PIC12HV615 based PID controlled Boost LED driver.
For reference, I am using AN1138 app note from Microchip which is for buck LED driver.
Can I use the same source code for a boost configuration?
I am of the idea that since it is a PID it will try to calculate the...
The following is the input configuration: 22nF||3.1uH bead - S1J Diode || 2.2uF.
I am planning to change 22nF to 100 nF and place 10uF||100nF caps instead of 2.2uF.
Besides, there is no separate chassis ground. There is only Vbattery and battery ground.
What is your opinion?
FvM,
Thanks. It would be helpful if you could guide to some literature explaining how to perform the hand calculations.
Besides, at the moment, I am using 22nF ceramic cap very close to the input followed by 3.1uH ferrite bead which is followed by a diode for reverse polarity protection...
Is there any ISO 11452-4 compliant input filter?
At the moment, I have used a 22nF capacitor followed by 3.1uH ferrite bead for a linear current regulator. The load current is 1.2 A.
The linear current regulator has a low side MOSFET with an op amp which takes the feedback from the current...
