THe Vpp means voltage peak to peak. If input range is 1 V peak to peak then you can either use the voltage from 0 to 1 V or also from -.5V to +5V..

It is not necessary to know about the internal ckt to analyze the op-amp containing circuits. But you should know the different modes of operation of opamps.

You can modulate the signal using IF if your superhet is used only for a single carrier. But it will be a problem if there are more than 1 carriers. In that case, you would need frequency converter to downconvert the RF carrier to IF.
