Inconsistent Transient Temperature Sweep In Spectre with "temp" vs design variable

I am seeing inconsistent issues with cadence temperature sweep during transients. If I specify a transient sweep with a variable called temp_var the temperature changes but when I go to check the temperature error it does not match the temperature sweep using a dc sweep with temperature. If...

[SOLVED] Different Resistor Process Variation Direction

Hi, Does anyone know if the process variations change in the same direction for all resistors or some resistors e.g P+ poly resistor with and without Salicide and an N+ poly resistor with and without Salicide or diffusion resistors? I see that for process variations that all resistors lower...

    PNOISE Analysis Noise Looks Different

When I simulate a switched capacitor circuit for with PSS, PAC and PNOISE, the PNOISE does not come out right. I was expecting the output noise to be 4KT(1/(f*C)) just like it would be a for a continuous time RC filter. Rswitch = 0.01 + 10 Ohm (noise generation is enabled for each resistor)...

CMFB loop stability in a 2 stage opamp

Hi, I was wondering how the polarity of your CMFB works. I am assuming you are just sensing with resistors. If you sense the output of the second stage and feed that back to the first stage then it would cause positive feedback. Consider the output CM voltage from the second stage lowers a bit...

Auxiliary of Gain Boosted Amplifier, Single Ended or Differential?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a significant difference to using a single ended vs a fully differential amplifier as the gain boosting amplifier. What I know: Choice I: Gain Boosted w/ Singled ended auxiliary: +Needs 4 auxiliary amplifiers (2 pairs for tand 2 pairs for bottom current source)...

[SOLVED] Constant Gm vs Constant Gain

Oh thank you guys. So I think I get it. Open loop gain can and will fluctuate a lot(process variation, change in output resistance), but as long as my gain is high enough for desired dc voltage accuracy, and if the constant gm circuit can maintain constant gm to produce a constant gain bandwidth...

[SOLVED] Constant Gm vs Constant Gain

Oh thank you so much for the explanation on constant gm and THD. I was frustrated trying to get the gain to be extremely flat for a rail to rail input amplifer but always had like 6 db fluctuation towards the rails.

[SOLVED] Constant Gm vs Constant Gain

Hi, I was wondering if designing a circuit for constant, flat, gm means it has to be designed as well for constant, flat, gain. And if the isn't kept constant rail to rail, then what is the industry set standard on the quality of the changing open loop gain? (THD+N?). Also are there any sort of...
