This is strange, I never observed this behavior.
Would it be possible for you to share your design to see if all simulation settings are in place ?
You don't have to share full design. You can trim it down and keep the same simulation profile.
Looks like your pspice.ini file is somehow not configured properly. This could be due to the software not properly installed.
From one screenshot it appears that you are using 16.5 version, which is quite old.
I don't remember exactly, but Pspice.ini can be configured at following registry...
I don't see any MAX.olb under <install>/tools/caplure/library/pspice/
What I see is maxim.olb.
Please make sure you are using the olb's from above location.
Can you attach your output file to get some idea about what could be happening wrong ?
Yes it would behave like 2N1597.
If you have your own model/subckt, just change the implementation name to that model/subckt and provide that library Pspice simulation settings.
To make the changes permanent you should open olb in capture (using open->library). Then edit the part, modify/add...
Yes you should write pin names as displayed when you put arrow on pin.
You should not write "Q^@REFDES...." because Q is reserved for BJT.
X is reserved for subckt, which could represent anything inside it. The subckt/model name is the name entered against IMPLEMENTATION property.
So if you...
Discrete.olb cannot be used for Simulation flow.
Only the libraries lying inside the following folder can be used for Pspice simulation - <install>\tools\capture\library\pspice
To make parts from discrete.olb simulate in Pspice, do following -
1) Add property PSPICETEMPLATE with the value (see...
I sometimes perform simulations having designs partial in pspice/spice syntax and partial in spectre syntax. I use the same method with spice circuit/commands go below lang=spice and spectre commands go below lang=spectre.
It works pretty well for me. If spectre has some difficulty in resolving...
From the error message it looks clearly the problem with model library setup.
Do you have nom.lib or eval.lib on your machine inside installation folder ?
If yes, you need to configure these.
There could be 2 possible reasons -
- You might be using wrong symbol libraries which are not meant for simulation. Always choose libraries from - tools/capture/library/pspice
- Your model libraries may not be configured properly.
You are using very old version of Pspice, I am not really...
