Electronic book exercise (transistor models, diode relative dimensions)

Hi all, I would like to submit the following exercise (from Sedra-Smith book): What I don't understand are the results reported on book. It says that in the first case the result is 11x and in the second one the result is 1000x. Are they correct? Thank you

Explanation of a current sensor circuit

Re: Current sensor Sorry, I continue to not understand. If i have those 2 diodes, when current flows through them, I have a 0.7V that's enough to trigger the transistor, right? Those diodes are 3A, so no problem about current, that is less than 1A.

Explanation of a current sensor circuit

Current sensor Hi all. Please take a look at this circuit: It is a "current sensor" circuit. When the PC is getting current the circuit turns on any other device connected to the triac. What I don't understand is the reason of that 0.82Ω, 2W resistor in parallel with the two BY398 diodes. Is...

momentary trigger a 240V relay through body capacitance

Thank you both. It's as I thought. I will use an optocoupler and let you know. Marco

momentary trigger a 240V relay through body capacitance

Triac trigger Hi all. I need some help with circuit in the attached file. I need to momentary trigger a 240V relay through body capacitance. Relay must be on just until I keep my finger on the touch plate. I could design the circuit in file: from the upper part I get 12V and, with the Q9...

Help me repair a Compaq v700 monitor

Re: monitor compaq v700 Let's try to repair our monitors together. I could fix the power supply but now I have the same problems of yours. Do this way: put away the component I indicated with the red arrow (please tell me its code, I lost mine) and connect a 60W lamp on the pins C and E of the...

Help me repair a Compaq v700 monitor

Re: monitor compaq v700 Hi piwo. Thank you so much for your reply. Don't worry for your english, mine is worse than yours. I'm going to download the schematic. Hope it's the right one. Could you repair your monitor? Mine's got problem with the power supply. I'm trying to repair the primary...

Help me repair a Compaq v700 monitor

Re: monitor compaq v700 Hi, I have the same monitor. It's died. Unfortunately I don't have the schematic diagram. In the attached pic I indicated (with a red arrow) a component (the green one) that's fried up: it's placed on TH602. Could you please tell me what is it? It seems a capacitor but...

Compaq V700 chassis CHE7789 schematics needed

Compaq V700 Hi all. I need the schematic diagram for the Compaq V700, chassis CHE7789. It's completely died. A capacitor on power supply primary stage is fried and I can't read its value. Anyone can help me? Thank you

    IR Proximity Detector

ir proximity sensor in presence of sunlight Banjo, you're right. I realized it's not a good idea to use that kind of circuit. I will use something older but more stable. Thank you for your help.

    IR Proximity Detector

infrared proximity sensor circuit Thank you both for your suggestions. Banjo, you explanation is really interesting. Maybe the circuit I posted here is a pyroelectric one. I could realize that after a few search, and your post confirms that. It can't monitor the human presence, but only...

    IR Proximity Detector

infrared proximity detector Hi all. I need help for a problem. I have a little device that can turn on a LED when a person gets closer to it. The LED remains on for just 1 second. I made reverse engineering and the schematic is in the attachment. What I would need is that the LED could be on...
