Your idea is testable with stepper motor.
With an additional sensor, it will be ok to position stepper with counting technique.

Right now i am driving servo but it is done with steps.
how can we get a smooth rotation of servo.

but my loader ICD U40 r not detecting the microcontroller.
Probably the crystal is faulty or microcontroller is damaged during mounting
let me check with another microcontroller.

ICSP is properly attached but the crystal is attached as per attached diagram
which is different from your posted.
Is it ok with my crystal connection or you recommend to change it as per your suggested diagram.

18F8722 is an upgraded version of 18F6720, so try not to use 18F6720 in place of 18F8722 even they are hardware compatible.
