Hey,
I just replaced KBC (the same model). After I plug in power supply and a battery, the charging led lights, but after about 10 seconds it is off. The same situation with power button. Power diode light for 5 seconds and then stop. Fan is not working while motherboard is on. ANd the next...
Thanks for your fast reply. In this way I will buy the IC and will try to solder a new one. What is the reason that IC is gone? I thought that it will be power MOSFET, not IC...

Hello. I have Toshiba Satellite C660D laptop with LA-6843P motherboard. When I plug in power adapter then none of led light.Power on button is ok, checked. I figured out that KBC chip is very hot after a few seconds when I plug in DC adapter. I measured all VCC pins in this chip and it is equal...
Thanks. I don't remember is there was a situation when monitor have been dropped. Maybe it can be this way: transformer is warm after about 10 minutes. Under the influence of heat, the tin oxidizes and a cold solder was formed, which turned into a cracks. Am I right?
Btw. I found duplicate in...
So:
1) I saw my laptop screen, the same what was on the laptop.
2) Yes, it displays logo every power-up.
3) No, only backlight stop working.
4) Yes, I've tried this with no result.
5) No, I don't have VGA (only DVI with plug for HDMI)
So:
I've changed some capacitors but with the same values...
Btw. I measured resistance on trafo inverter and they are in a proper range ca. 980 Ohm on 1-2 and 3-4 pins. Checked with documentation of TMS92920CT. Capacitors doesn't look like swollen. When screen is working there is a quiet noise about trafo (yellow one), but when screen turns off on it's...
Hi everyone,
My second monitor is broken. After few seconds screen disapper and looks like switched off. But when I unplug hdmi from my laptop, and plug it again it works again for few seconds. Tested on 2 another laptops with the same symptoms. It looks like it need to replace some capacitors...
I don't know how to edit my last post, so I have to create next one. Problem solved now. AUX is working, but everything else like FM or tapes still doesn't work and it's ok for me. I figured out that on the back board (next to transformer) there is a cable with 3 wires and its captioned "AUDIO...
Ok. Today I had some free time and I checked paths. Supply is going to a switch with three states. I set it on CD/AUX state and tried to find where supply is going forward, but I didn't find it. I think that switch should transfer supply or GND forward on another pin of switch, shouldn't it...
@BradtheRad thanks for your reply. Yes, 16 VDC, not AC. So you propose to track e.g. one path with voltage? I'll try.
@vfone thanks for your reply. How can I determine which capacitors need to be replaced?
Hi everyone,
I found an old radio tower in my basement. But after I delivered to it voltage there is no signs of life. Even the POWER led doesn't light. Only speaker hums and bangs after I touch a potentiometer of volume. I don't need FM (I know that I need to do retuning), I don't need even...
Good morning,
My monitor started working weird. It not depends on my graphic driver because it appears even without any connection with source of image. Below is the video which show how it behave. I dismantled a monitor and I noticed that after the stripes appear, then a strange noise comes...
