Let me clarify my question.
let's make simple block for charging application.
AC Plug - AC/DC (flyback, psr) - Electronic device (Buck charger)
and I know that both CC and CV mode is used in Electronic device (Buck).
What I'm asking is about AC/DC flyback stage (aka wall charger, TA)
The main...
Hi all
I have a simple question about wall charger.
In fact, there are many ic which provide cc and cv regulation.
Then, when we make wall charger (adaptor) for battery charging application, i think it should be operated in cv mode for constant output voltage.
Because mobile charger uses this...
Thanks for your answer.
Could you please let me know any example of transformer power supplies? (Transformer front-end instead of diode bridge)
I cannot find any url.
Thanks.
Hi all
I have some stupid question about ac-dc conversion.
As you already know, diode-bridge is connected to AC line and rectified voltage is go through flyback stage in case of flyback ac-dc smps.
- AC Plug -> Diode bridge -> Flyback stage
Then let me write a stupid question.
How about...
Hi all,
I have a question about drivng method of piezo.
Some manufacturer provide opamp driving method while some provide full-bridge driving method.
So what is the difference of driving method between them?
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
I measured boost converter with kikusui electronic load.
And when I draw 2A with elec. load, my dcdc oscillates.
But when I draw 2A with resistor (real resistor), my converter operates stable.
Then what is the difference between electronic load and real resistor?
of course, IN/OUT...
Hi all
I have seen ldmos which is integrated on well instead of bl/epi layer.
I know parasitic pnp is easy to operate because of high base resistance.
Then is there another drawback with non-epi wafer?
Hi all,
I have a question about buck operation mode.
I'm going to design switching charger with buck converter, and which is suitable for switching charger
; current mode buck or voltage mode buck.
Also wonder why specific mode is suitable for charger application.
I was trying to find some...
Hi crutschow,
THanks for your answer,
So, you mean that PMID is pin-outed just for VBUS bypass purpose?
Then is there any differences between cin1 and cin2? because input vbus always comes from VBUS Pin. (please see figure 3)
is there any special purpose of 'double' bypass with cin1 and cin2...
Thanks for your answer,
but What i wonder is what kind of circuitry is connected to PMID pin in switching charger application?
Please give me an advice, thanks.
Hi all
I have a question about PMID pin,
Please see below datasheet,
https://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/FA/FAN5400.pdf
and there is PMID pin on chip.
Datasheet says it's a power input pin but i don't know where this pin is used for.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all I have a question about reverse current in sync buck charger.
Please refer to below articles and
https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/slyp089/slyp089.pdf
My question is in Fig. 22.
When a charger is started with battery connected, a huge negative current flows from the battery.
I don't understand...
Hi all
I have a question about avalanche breakdown at MOSFET .
I know that avalanche breakdown occurs when voltage exceed bvdss at OFF state.
Then is it possible that avalanche breakdown occurs when mosfet's ON state???? (if sudden voltage spikes occured at drain or source)
Thanks in advance.
Hi All,
I have a question about power dissipation calculation.
I designed some half bridge driver and simulated that. the current peaks to about 10A only during switching period.
I calculated this current through rms and average value and found that there are huge difference b/w that...
Hi all
I've a question about high gain power converter. i'm just curious about this.
Simply, we use boost converter for step-up, however when gain need to be larger, (about 30~40x )
we should consider coupled inductor boost converter (aka tapped inductor boost converter) for obtaining high...
