Re: i am frustrated
Dear Friends,
Sometimes God tests your patience, especially for the competent people. From my own experience, it is always like that. Firm or company could only determine the education background by your certificate only, even govenment does. Let think in another way, their...
Dear All Folks,
I would like to ask if anyone has a tutorial or any reference material about planar antenna designs.
I would appreciate if you could upload here.
Best Regards,
Le
Re: about CDMA
CDMA stands for code division multiple access
I think that you should learn Spread Spectrum first, since it is the basic theory for CDMA. You should say CDMA is only a kind of Communication protocol, like GSM which ultilizing TDMA method, also AMPS.
In Spread Spectrum, there...
Re: cellphone antenna
there are different type antenna in cell phone. two categories here:
1. external antenna
2. Internal Antenna
1.1 External Antenna, we will have helix, Mendre line antenna, monopole (AMPS phone)
2.1 Internal Antenna, we will have Patch metal stamping antenna, FLexible...
Re: GSM and PCS
Actually, they are more or less the same in protocol layer, the difference is RF physical layer, since they are in different freqency band, by the way, there are also many standard about GSM, like GSM850, GSM750, GSM450, EGSM900 and RGSM, PGSM,... for PCS, only PCS1900, also...
Hi All,
I would like to ask about the effect from plastic holder on antenna performance. Practically, i put ABS plastic under the planar antenna, the resonance frequency shifted slightly. However, if i assigned ABS plastic (RELATIVE Permittivity = 3) in HFSS, then frequency shift severely. I...

dear Catalyst,
Loop antenna, it probably is external antenna. I think that you just use wave port to be contact with antenna materal is okay. Any ground plane (e.g PCB) for the system? you could find how to simulate the antenna in tutorial.
Best Regrads,
Le
Re: How to deal with Unexpected result of antenna performanc
Dear Vfone,
i agree, it is beauty of RF. Thanks for your advice and sharing. And, nice to meet you in this forum

Hi All,
I would like to raise a question which is about how to manage the unexpected result.
If we are designing antenna, say tri band antenna, then designed it, but PCB still not come back yet. Then make prototype first, to measure the prototype with calibrated cable and metal sheet (dimension...
Re: HFSS Problem
Hi,
When you are using HFSS, you should bear in mind a theory
"Simple is the best"
It is wise not to draw your simulation structure so complicated, since it must spend you so much time on simulation, by the way, it is not easy to draw wrong structure or do a wrong simulation...

Hi All,
Does anyone know how to import Pro-Engineering 3D object to HFSS V9.1?
Since I have tried so many times:
1. Open *.prt file in Pro-Engineering, then save as *.iges or *.Stp.
2. Open HFSS, 3D modeler, import, point to *.iges or *.Stp file, HFSS did read the file, but finally...
Hi,
First of all, I did not run simulation, but i could see that the setup of Coaxial wave port is wrong, i just see you have assigned two lumped port on the face of inner conductor of two different coaxial port. Definitely, it is not an usual practice of creating wave port.
please bear in mind...
Hi All,
I got some problems on size of coaxial wave port.
Since i am simulated planar antenna which i am using wave port to be touched with my feed point of antenna, although the result of simulation shows me a good size, however, i wondered how large the coaxial wave port should i use. 1mm...
Hi,
Firstly, Radiation boundary is meaning E-field going into the plane that you selected as Rad boundary perpendicularly. Lumped port is internal source port that the signal will radiate continuously along the port to your simulation structure. in which if when HFSS calculate the field...
