Hi all...
Actually I'm designing an up-conversion mixer at 12.4 GHz. I designed using distributed network with input and output matching. My concern is how to determine that my matching circuit was done correctly for the desired frequency and how to test it. I've tried getting the S11 at input...
Hi all...
Just would like to know how to test a matching circuit? I mean how to determine that the matching circuit either at the input or output port is done correctly and under expectation? One more is which is better either we test the matching using lumped element circuit or using...
Thanks tony_lth... meaning we can simply meander the lines as long as the lines far enough each other so that no interference occurs. Usually how far/space should be between adjacent lines?
Thanks again

For your info, I modeled and simulated the mixer using MWO platform. I'm not using available mixer but I designed and modeled it by my own. I used single BFP620 transistor for the mixer. I'm not sure my model is correct or not. May be you guys can give advise on how to design a mixer with...
Thanks tony_lth for your comment... actually I just try and error the value of the power... when I set the input power too low say negative dBm then the output power seems not too good that's why I try putting more higher values of the input power so that I could get the best possible output. It...
If let say, I have an up-converted single HBT mixer with DC bias at 2V, 10mA with the following settings and output:
LO port: 30 dBm, freq = 10 GHz
IF port: 10 dBm , freq = 2.4 GHz
I obtained about -3.8 dBm at RF output port, freq = 12.4 GHz and at the same output spectrum LO power appeared...
Thanks all...
I think Manju is right... I'll try to simulate using EM simulator... I'll get back to you guys when I've done with the EM simulation.

Hi all,
Anyone please share with me and others in designing RF mixer especially using MWO software... if possible starting from the scratch...
Thanks

Hi all,
I got this warning in my microwave office simulation..
MSTEPX.MS1 : Design Rule Violation : Freq<= 13.11GHz - Strongly Recommend reduced W or Substrate H to avoid Multimode Propagation
For your info I am using this MSTEPX element to connect from one txn line with smaller width to the...
Hi all,
I always believe that there are a light at the end of a tunnel. I will find my ways out no matter how. Hoping that somebody out there can give me the clue and guide me to reach at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks

Hi Manju,
It seems everybody so quiet and not interested in giving their thought in this topic. By the way have you find ways on how to draw the artwork/footprint for the axial type?
Thanks
