Hello,
I have a problem in HFSS defining the ports for striplines as voltage gaps.
The striplines have two GNDs, so when I use the lumped port (with Solution type Model or Terminal) I get the error saying I have too many terminals.
a. Can you please send me an example taht include the correct...
Hello,
I have a coaxial line of length L. run it at frequency f. No dielectric just one PEC cylinder in a vacuum cylinder.
Defined waveguide ports.
since this is a TEM mode, I would expect the s21 phase to be 2*pi*L/wl.
It's not!
What am I missing?
Thanks
Hello,
I am trying to use Spider to create scripts for HFSS in python.
I used the recorder in HFSS to record a simple Iron python script.
Then I tried to modify it using Spider in the Python(x,y) environment.
Spider gives me errors, like "invalid syntax for the simple like "Dim oAnsoftApp"
I...
Hello,
I am trying to write script that creates an output variable that can be use as a goal function in an optimization routine for pattern synthesis.
I have a hard time putting all this together (either HFSS or Designer).
Some questions:
1. can the desired pattern be an array defined by in...
Re: Control CST from Excel
thank you DeborahHarry,
Basically what I want to do is using macros (that one ussually uses inside the CST VBA editor) in the VBA editor in EXCEL. I did that for HFSS and it works great. EXCEL has the sheets and one can summarize a run in detail, so when you go back...
I have this routine I did for extracting information from a CST project file and save it in an EXCEL workbook.
Most of it works from the EXCEL VBA Editor.
I was not able to get to work a number of things and I have a few questions:
1. Option 3 below : if the project file is already open, how...
Hello,
I have a simple stacked patch on a finite GND fed by a coaxial connector.
I know that this should be analyzed using either FDTD or FEM for accuracy reasons, but I would like to see how of the IE does.
I do not know how to define a coaxial port in the IE solver. I understand that the IE...
you need to build vacuum extensions blocks on each port (to get away from the structure analyzed) you need also to deembedd the reference plane from the port to the surface where you initially tried to define the floquet mode port
no, I'm afraid I was not clear enough. here is again:
1. the left picture has two 2D circles one yellow and one red. if you subtract red left form yellow left you get an annular shape.
2. i need to reproduce the process for the yellow right
3. but on the right i have only the yellow
4. SOMEHOW...
well 'imprint' requires 2 objects. I have ONLY ONE. I need to create the second first to use imprint.
see the picture before. left side has 2 objects. my problem is to create the RED from the YELLOW for the RIGHT side
Joline,
thank you for your help. see snap attached. I have the profile in the right.
I need to make a pipe lie the one on the left.
for the left I just build the yellow cylinder, then the red cylinder and subtract.
I do not know how to create the 'red' from the yellow in the right side
