    If I am then to try to find the characteristic modes of the equation then do I do the following: Vout = Ceλt so for the differential equation: (λ3 + 6λ2 + 15) * Ceλt = 0 then to determine λ: λ3 + 6λ2 + 15 = 0 Then I need to solve for λ, but how do I do that?
