If you want a strong and skilled network administrator, it is better follow CCNA, MCSE and some Linux administration too.
I think GNS3 takes high RAM usage but it is best. I think it supports almost all IOS commands. In other hand Packet tracer is best for beginners and it takes low RAM usage

You can control your in bound and out bound traffic from router using standard access list option which is already in your router. By using this you can deny traffic from/toward any IP address in each interface.
There option is use separate firewall unit before your router and add your rules in...
OK, Simply there is a VPN between HO and branch office. Now I want to appear branch office PC in my "Network neighborhood". Therefore when I click on "my work group" I must able to see the icon of my remote PC. Can you help on that ?

You can use VLAN by port base or policy base
If you use port base you can use same Network ID for all PC with different VLAN in each port or same VLAN ID for several ports then PC's can access only if other PC in same VLAN ID even other PC's got same network ID

ie
Laptop 1 IP: 192.168.1.1 mask 255.255.255.0
Laptop 2 IP: 192.168.1.1 mask 255.255.255.0

CRC is one method of checksum as my knowledge. There are some methods use for error correction and detection. Checksum is used for detect the error in flow control, therefore we can use CRC or Parity methods to use error detection.

Net ID:223.100.10.16 255.255.255.248 for Network...
