    Sleeve Antenna

Hi, thanks for the reply. When you say that the parasitic elements can be tuned, do you mean to lengthen or shorten the sleeve? 1602354688 Hi, thanks for the response. I thought that the sleeve is attached to the ground with which combines with it to form the parasitic elements?

    Sleeve Antenna

Why when sleeve antennas are used for high frequencies they are superior to single wire or regular whip antennas in both vertical pattern and impedance characteristics. I don't understand when it states the impedance characteristics of a sleeve Antenna can attain satisfactory standing wave...

    Dynamic Input Impedance

Why is the dynamic input impedance of an IF amplifier greatly affected by loading and detuning of it's tank circuit when a large resistor is placed in parallel across it, like a large resistive load. And why is it better to use a rf amplifier in this situation?

    ground clip on oscilloscope

[Merged] still a little confused on ground clip pf oscilloscopes Is it better to connect ground clip of oscilloscope near component i am measuring on secondary of isolation transformer or is it just as good to connect it at the voltage terminal of transformer secondary, woulnt that earth...

    oscilloscope used with isolation transformer

oscilloscope connected to isolation transformer .In the circuit diagram it shows an isolation transformer connected to an lamp dimmer. They placed the ground clip of the oscilloscope to one terminal of the transformer secondary and the probe to measure the diac. Did they place the ground at the...

    universal motor speed control

I have a circuit diagram of a speed controller for a universal motor. I am having trouble uploading the picture, so i will do my best to describe it. It has a potentiometer feeding a capacitor that will trigger a diac to turn on the triac.my question is in the diagram the rc series circuit isin...

    lamp dimmer with pi filter

I thought the first capacitor would discharge when the AC voltage is on it's decline.and does the second capacitor discharge when it's voltage is equal with first cap or at the discs breakage voltage.

    lamp dimmer with pi filter

I am looking at a lamp dimmer circuit. It has an rc pi filter used to trigger a diac. I want to know why and when does the first capacitor discharge into second capacitor. The second question is how does the first capacitor fully discharge.

    types of alternators

In my book it says "a variation of the revolving armature AC generator is often used for very low power (e.g. , an automobile alternator) where both windings are interlaced on a stator and the fields are coupled by a rotating soft iron (electromagnetic) armature without windings." I don't...

    dc motors turning too fast

It's in a.troubleshooting chart for DC motors and all it says is your motor runs too fast it is probably improper connections. I can't figure it out myself. Besides the motor controller not hooked up properly, I can't imagine what they mean.
