    semiconductor fabrication video

I'm sure many of you have seen the video on fabrication. I've seen it twice and it was really fascinating and I want to add a copy to my collection. Does anyone here know where is that video located here?

Negative Resistance Transformation using Quarter Wave

hi there, so have you figured out how to do it? I just learned how to do matching. This is very interesting thing and I would like to know the solution too. If you found out the solution, please shred some light me.

What is the best lna paper in recent years you think about?

Re: What is the best lna paper in recent years you think abo or an advertisement, now we know who's the real author here hehe

Why we need to reduce miller effect in LNA design?

Of course it affects the Q, if you included all the two main caps Cgs and Cgd at HF then write your transfer function. You will get a second order system, you will get denumerator as S^2 + w0/Q x s + wo^2. If you include that Cgd of the CS into the transfer function you will see that not only...

Negative Resistance Transformation using Quarter Wave

if it has negative real part then something is wrong and can cause oscillation due to reflection waves. Where are you div your RI? Is it at the load? It should be at the load.

    The best RF design book?

T.Lee book is awfully difficult to understand unless you had experiences. But then again if you already knew your stuffs then why would you need a book anyway. I like Razavi RF Microelectronic book better even though it was carelessly written and it seems like he rushed that book out too fast...

    Amplifier phase noise

Klouly, I have ADS software. I want to learn how to use it, do you know what are the best place online that provide a free crash course on how to use it?

howto: Smith Chart for matching network

right, I understand that. How to select my passive element or even using a transmission line, i.e. how to navigate around the polar chart. But what I don't understand is 1. Does a perfect match have to be exactly on the origin point? Or can it be anywhere along imag = 0 and anywhere on real...

How to calculate the cascade stage ip3?

calculate cascaded ip3 speaking of intermodulation product, my teacher told us that the last stage is always more important. Why is that?

    what's a sharp filter

I don't have that book. I don't need deep understanding of that filter either. I just just need a quick overview of how does its characteristic looks like because I googled and I found none descriptive definition.

    what's a sharp filter

how does it looks like? Is it a bandpass filter like SAW or is it a notch or LP or HP? This one book I'm reading keep mentioning but I just couldn't imagine how it looks like.

    homodyne vs heterodyne

homodyne transceiver So is it true that 99% of the transceiver today are based on homodyne design for its simplicity? Is that true? I was told by someone but I just want to more inputs. Thanks guys.

howto: Smith Chart for matching network

Thanks guy. I just went over the Cheng EMC book and understood Smith Chart. What I don't get the most is how in the world can you get your starting point on the smith chart? Do you just put your 50ohm input to any transmission/ckt. Then using a simulator like Cadence to tell you where is...

Why we need to reduce miller effect in LNA design?

To avoid miller you should always use Cascode or CG setup. Miller only happens in CS amplifier because you have that Cgd cap and it can really limit your bandwidth at high speed. w3-db = 1/RC and C=Cgd(1+K). You see C is getting amplified by its own gain, the denumerator gets really large and...

howto: Smith Chart for matching network

so you guys are saying that we can not start with smith chart for hand analysis. So I have to use a program for that then deciding whether to add L/C in series or parallel? Added after 2 minutes: btw, smith chart is only for passive devices only right? I can't use it to match impedance for R?
