Welcome to our site! EDAboard.com is an international Electronics Discussion Forum focused on EDA software, circuits, schematics, books, theory, papers, asic, pld, 8051, DSP, Network, RF, Analog Design, PCB, Service Manuals... and a whole lot more! You might want to check out what FEKO website has to say on the topic.
They've got some nice information on they're take on:
Antenna placement,
MLFMM,
PO,
UTD,
antenna design for placement on big structures.
Re: ground plane effects
Infinite ground plane is a handy concept that you often encounter in simulation software. It allows significant savings in computation time due to the assumptions that it allows.
Typically, you will not see a difference between simulation results for finite ground...

To add to Wiley's comments...
The MLFMM is a great way to accelerate IE (MoM) based codes, using surface equivalence principle (SEP) to model dielectrics. It stores sparse matrices so memory scaling is very efficient, as is solution time.
The drawback with MoM-SEP is that you...
Re: Problem with Feko
What is your mesh density? Problems are often related to sub-optimal meshing.
Very good PIFA results from models on the FEKO website:
- Inverted F antenna
- Conformal multi-band patch antenna
You can download FEKO 5.2 model for both cases (if you log in).
ga matlab discrete function
Not sure what you ask... I found contacts for FEKO support some time ago:

em simulation
I think it is possible, but you'd have to build a fairly complex model. You'd have to ask FEKO support to help you. I hear they're quite good.
Re: Feko Help
Do the sides of honeycomb cells touch? If so... did you remember to use the union operator? Select all elements of the honeycomb in the Geometry tree and click "Union". Then remesh and see what happens.
In CADFEKO you can also select the mesh in the "Meshes" tree and use the...
matlab em
You should check out FEKO. They've got the GA already built in. They also have means to modify model variables from command line, so you can use your own Matlab GA if you'd rather do that...
Re: Feko Help
Go into CADFEKO and select your mesh in the tree. Then go to menu item:
Find - Find in whole model - free mesh triangle edges.
CADFEKO will highlight the edges of triangles that are not shared with other triangles, so if you see such an edge where it should be a shared edge...
Re: Which EM simulator is suitable for simulating antenna pa
You should also review FEKO.

It's a MoM based code, so transmission over long ranges are done without phase dispersion. I think they have "ideal" receiving and transmitting antenna that uses far-field patterns...
