    Encounter Library Characterizer Feedthrough Problem

You could always create the schematics after finishing the layout

    Encounter Library Characterizer Feedthrough Problem

Ok I had a look at your netlist. There are a few things that worry me: 1. Your inverter is characterized from an extracted view. Do you not have an original schematic view for the cell? 2. Another thing that seems strange from the netlist is your instance names... I am not sure, but \+1 and...

    Design Compiler Segmentation Fault

Maybe your machine runs out of memory with the larger design?

    Encounter Library Characterizer Feedthrough Problem

Can you give an example of your inverter netlist? Something sounds dodgy. Are you providing the correct simulation model files for your technology?

    Encounter Library Characterizer Problem

    Try adding the following to the top of your elccfg file: EC_SIM_USE_LSF=1; EC_SIM_LSF_CMD=" "; EC_SIM_LSF_PARALLEL=50; EC_SIM_TYPE="spectre"; EC_SIM_NAME="spectre"; EC_SPICE_SIMPLIFY=1; EC_CHAR="ECSM-TIMING ECSM-POWER";

Cadence ELC. Problem with flip-flop and latch.

Yes, ELC will not be extract functionality for these cells from the netlist. You will have to write a gate file for each cell like this. ELC will then be able to extract functionality from the gate file. For information on gate files, see the ELC documentation.

ELC(Encounter Library Characterizer) compability with verilog-a

you can import the verilog netlist into Cadence, and then use that to export the required netlist.

    Encounter Library Characterizer Feedthrough Problem

ELC should have no problem with recognising a cell as simple as an inverter... I suspect the problem to be with your SPICE netlist. How are you generating it? I generated mine by instancing all of the standard cells into a new schematic, without any pin connections, then exporting a SPICE...

    Encounter Library Characterizer Problem

ELC = Encounter Library Characterizer. Used for characterizing digital standard cell libraries. I don't know Altos.

    Encounter Library Characterizer Problem

No, without. Only place your standard cells in the netlist. ELC will automatically determine the load that each cell is capable of driving etc.

Quartus Linux vs. Windows Versions: Different Error Criteria

Thanks, what you are saying makes sense. Firstly I will have to find out why we are using it this way in our designs, and secondly why the Windows versions of Quartus do not have a problem with this.

Quartus Linux vs. Windows Versions: Different Error Criteria

Sorry for the late response, for some reason I don't get email notifications any more. Yes, we do have real values assigned to signals; first, we define a variable such as: constant VARNAME : real := 1.0 * n; And then later on (and this is where the error occurs in Linux only, not in...

Encounter Library Characterizer user guide ...

You need the following files in your working directory: cmd_file (This optional file contains a list of ELC commands to execute in succession. Alternatively, you can interactively enter commands into ELC.) elccfg (ELC configuration file. Specifies parameters to ELC) spice_netlist.scs (SPICE...

    Encounter Library Characterizer Problem

In the end I had to remove that specific cell from the library. It may have used too much memory for the machine to handle, causing ELC to fail. I may retry some or other time on a newer machine.
