it's not that easy - you have to use 2-port touchstone format to be able to connect the source at the input of the antenna, because you need to supply the signal somehow, and to be able to connect the rest of the receiver path after the antenna.
If you use the 1-port touchstone, the you are...
Hi all,
consider the following problem:
You have a measured s1p s-parameter file for an antenna - and there is only mag(S11) and ang(S11) given, of course. You want to somehow implement the antenna characteristic into a simulator, such as @DS to simulate the receiver path. How would you do it...
Hi all,
I'm implementing a receiver path in ADS and want to specify the parameters of a SAW filter from a catalogue. For me it is very important to specify different attenuation values at different frequencies. Is it possible using the standard model? Or how can I do it in a different way?
My...
Hi,
does anyone know the crest factor for Galileo BOC(1,1) and GPS BPSK?
Regards,
Anna
From one point of view both modulations have constant amplitude envelope. On the other hand the signals are somehow noisy, and a crest factor of gaussian noise is around 12dB. Anyone has any ideas?
ie3d can be for lower frequency
i'm having problems with ie3d cpw ports too. the examples are quite unusefull cause they show the result and i have difficulties with the steps i have to make to get the port. so could you jian describe it step by step how to get a cpw port??
regards
ania
I suggest multiple-ring antennas. I was simulating them a while ago and got very good results. Try to look them up in IEEE, or I could upload an article for you.

Antenna gain in IE3D
Hi there,
could anyone tell me exactly what GP and GA in radiation characteristics in IE3D mean?? I suppose it comes from PowerGain and AvailableGain, but I am not sure. Is there any possibility to get the gain in dBi in IE3D??
Best regards

zeland fidelity
I agree, HFSS is powerfull, but it requires much work to get precise results. For example, I have been dealing with a problem of a monpole over a finite gnd (perpendicular to the groundplane) and haven't got good results yet :( because of the port definition and problems with...
am fractal antenna egypt
I guess my post may have been misleading. There are two topics I am working on: first there are monopoles perpendicular to the groundplane - I guess I have to solve my HFSS problems and that is the only way to get some results, second: planar structrures, such as the...
simulation of fractal dipole antenna
Thanks, but regarding the size of the port - I thought (based on some HFSS tutorials) that it should fit the size of the actual microstrip line. Anyway, I tried ie3d but I found it even more time and memory consuming than HFSS, also I don't really know how...
Symmetry plane in ie3d
Hi,
does anyone know is there a possibility to introduce a symmetry plane or magnetic/electric wall in ie3d to decrease the number of unknowns and time of simulation??

fractal antenna in hfss
Hi,
I wonder if you have simulated fractal antennas using HFSS. At the beginning I wanted to simulate some antennas described in articles, but unfortunately my result are different from those presented (which were simulated with another software). Therefore I had to...
