If you are new to hfss, you should at least perform the tutorial with the patch antenna.
Then check the help file for the terminal excitation. There is an example with vias.
I guess, you made a mistake in Setting up the boundary conditions.
I used half a wavelength above and below the SRR/Substrate.
How can that be urgent, it has been published extensively in the past 6-8 years.
Search the edaboard for fss and check the entries 2005 to 2007. I'm pretty sure, we...
You can use a Maxwell3DDesign and use Solution Type: Electric Transient to apply a pulse.
How large ist your sphere? 10Hz will most likely not be a pulse but be a static Problem. What do you want to find out?
HFSS works with THz-frequencies. As PlanarMetamaterials already said, it solves Maxwell's equations, which are valid here.
However, you have to consider (at least) two critical aspects:
The materials in HFSS are usually defined for 10GHz. If you do simulations with gold, silicon, etc. you have...
ANSYS 13, Maxwell and HFSS are three different programs / software packages. You can buy and use them individually.
Since the integration on Ansoft in ANSYS you can buy a license for all Ansoft products in one.
I totally agree with roxxon about the "serious service problems", but I think they...
HPC is an option to your HFSS-License. (And therefore I think It will cost extra.)
Maybe HPC is included in the Research License, I'll find out in a few days.
HFSS in Germany for University Research is 3k EUR per year or 5.5k unlimited (+tax).
Ansoft is now part of Ansys. HFSS comes with an Ansoft software bundle including Q3D, Designer, NEXXIM, Siwave, Optimetrics, ECAD, MCAD and support for parallel computing.
We have a HP power meter with sensor head Hughes 45778h-1300 for 140GHz.
Unfortunately I cannot find any documentation. I would really like to know the sensitivity (measurement range).
Re: HFSS error
Make a new project.
Got to "3D Modeler" -> "Units...".
Set the model units to "um".
Anyway, 1nm is very thin. This is less than 10 Atoms, I guess. Way below skindepth. Are you sure that your simulation makes any sense?
hfss 11.1.2
There are several errors patched. (unfortunately not all)
And they made an upgrade in the postprocessing. When you change a colorscale or source all plots are immediately updated, what can take some time. With V11.1 you can switch this off.
I had to upgrade, because of an error in...
