    logarithmic detector amplifier - discrete

Similar log detector as on Fig. 9 is contained in AD8703. Schematics for that SA were first time published at the end of 1998.

    logarithmic detector amplifier - discrete

Obvious Video amplifier on Fig. 10 is what you want. It's output is 1V/20dB (~4Vmax). Discrete components does not enable simple realisation with good enough temperature stability. - - - Updated - - - Here you have more compact log detector with AD8703 with greater dinamic range...

[SOLVED] Voltage balancing resistors for series capacitors

Output impedance of audio amplifier is near 0ohm. To get max power from it load resistance must be close to specified. Othervice amplifier will be overloaded or not at all. Rare audio amp chips if any can give max power at 58kHz. Coil as antenna with parallel tuning capacitor has high impedance...

Peak envelope detector and ssb detection?

At AM carrier is modulated with audio. Resulting spectrum contains carrier and two sidebands. Sidebands are audio signals shifted on each side of carrier. Neither of them has envelope similar to audio but all three together has equal to it. Sidebands are not modulated at all they are modulation...

Peak envelope detector and ssb detection?

Envelope of SSB rectified with detector does not recover intelligible audio. AM has envelope which after rectification gives normal audio. One of method for demodulation of SSB is to first mix SSB with carrier to get AM and then rectify it.

Passive circuit or component to eliminate low voltage

Place in series voltage barrier composed of zener diodes and a current through this barrier to a resistor will flow only at higher voltages. You can go as low as knee voltage of ordinary diodes.

[SOLVED] Voltage balancing resistors for series capacitors

Balancing resistors are needed only if capacitors are under DC voltage. If only AC voltage is applied it will distribute along capacitors inversely proportional to capacitance of each capacitor. Assuming all capacitors in that chain has the same capacitace AC will be divided to equal AC voltages.

    Small RF Tunable Inductor

For HF let us say above 0.1GHz inductors are made variable by mechanic deformation. Coil of few turns of thick wire can be stretched and it's inductance decreased and vice versa. Inductance of straight wire can be decreased if shorted loop is placed close to it. Closer the loop is lower is the...
