The private internet adresses are defined in RFC 1918
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1918
And in "short" they are not routable on the internet ("read" reachable via the internet).
And every one is allowed to use them inside their own private network infrastructure.

There i no way, you can use Atmel Studio 6 on Linux.
There are alternative IDE's (ie Eclipse, or Code::Blocks) that work on Linux.
And avr-gcc is working fine on linux (you can even download Atmels version for linux)
Debugging is going to be a challenge though.

That looks like a "Phillips I2C" FET levelshifter based board.
I'd suggest to use BSS138 , hve a look @ Adafriut for the schematic , or the Philips I2C AppNote.
But TI (and other) makes some nice IC based ones

Hi Altera Gurus
I have a question about the pullup's on a MAXII EPM240T100C5 CPLD.
I'm a VHDL beginner just started this summer.
I'm using Quartus-II 13.0sp1 ,and have enabled pullup's om my cpld input pins in the Assignment editor.
I'm getting no errors (with respect to pullups) when...
And why should W8.1 solve OP's connect problem ?
Do you even know if OP's computer is able to run W8.1 ?
XP is actually doing fine, it was M$ that killed XP by stopping updates , not XP's capabilities

I'll give hint but not solve your homework.
STP is blocking all but one path, what impact would that have have on ie. 4 x 10G in parallel ?

I would recommend Quartus 13.01.sp1 , as a lot of the older devices has been removed in the 13.1+ versions.
I'm using linux , and my downloaded version runs fine on both x86 and x86_64
Try to get it from here

My ee-friend once told me ,as mentioned above.
In order to make the button contacts "self cleaning" , make sure ~2ma runs through them , then the current vil prevent oxidation.
If this is a "text" , don't bother.
But if it's a production ..

if(_test_struct.ptr_sum) //if the functionpointer is assigned (aka not zero)
_test_struct.ptr_sum(6,8); //call the function with 6,8
And the ansver is 14 .. And sadly not 42 - stupid example

WinPcap is a capture driver , usually installed when installing WireShark (Free network analyzer).
WireShark will save you , when you need to see what's going on on the network wire.
Just make sure you use an old HUB when debugging (shared media) , or a switch with capture capabilities ($$$$$)...
