Yes, it is nimh. and I intend to replace the two bad ones. But I hadnt thought of the capacity being not what it says on the label.
I gather it would be better to replace all cells with identical cells both in brand and capacity althrough more expensive.

My power drill battery pack suddenly woulden hold charge. I opened it and one of two of the cells are dead. One of them gets quite hot. I want to switch them with new ones. They are 2600mah. Not so common. 2500mah and 2700mah are easier to find. What will happen if I use them instead?

I have found that one of the small transformers is buzzing so much that it is annoying. I believe it is the left one of the two right next to each other seen in the photo.
Any way to make it stop oscilating?
