I want to design an isolated DC DC converter for MPPT stage of solar system.
Output Power: 7kW
Input Voltage 14V-57V
Output Voltage = 12/24/48 Configurable based on the battery.
I am confused as to which topology I need to go with.

There should be strong coupling between primary and secondaries but between secondaries there should be as little coupling as possible, unless it is intended to be designed that way.

For active power factor correction technique, most popular choice is boost converter.
I think any topology can be used for pfc, Why is Boost converter most popular choice, why not a Buck converter?

Is it sufficient to measure phase angle between current and voltage to calculate power factor? what if the phase angle is zero but current waveform is distorted?

I am having a circuit that has boost based PFC in it(400V,5A).
i need to measure the power factor and total harmonic distortion.
Is it possible just with measurement of voltage and currents waveforms?

I tried with a ferrite core transformer at low frequencies.. it didn't work.
I guess that they cut off.

i have certain follow up questions:
1) Isolation transfomer mentioned in this document is a standard 110V/12V one. my question is can we use this transformer for sweeping through frequency range of about 50Hz to 100kHz with signal amplitude between 30mV-100mV?

One more thing:
if you use the same rating transformer Output voltage across capacitor wont be 24 , instead it will be ~34V(24 * root(2)). Capacitor will get charged to peak of the sine wave.

I am having problems testing UCC28950 IC.
I am testing this IC's functionalities without the true signals from the power circuit.
the problem is i am not able to vary the duty cycle of the PWM outputs by varying the feedback pin voltage.
More closely, i am not able to obtain Error...
In pratical diodes except ultra fast ones, there is certain reverse recovery effect observed and diode doesnt block at the instant the diode current reaches zero. its information can be obtained by Qrr and Trr from datasheets.
