How would you connect a comercial 24V npn photocell to a microcontroller input (Vcc = 5V). Also, would you debounce the signal in order to avoid the very fast noise pulses and also to have a fast enough system.

Firstly there must be a very good pcb design using good enough ground planes and the apropriate type of trucks for the power supply, ground and signal tracks.
