Well.... if it's a wire fence it could be a 'no-pass',
if it's a wire gate, it could be an 'open to pass',
if it's a wire hanging noose, it could be a 'too late, you shouldn't have passed'
Yes, not by intention.
However, it acts like a filter - if you like it or not. It also acts as an antenna.
Surely, it conducts dc and its ability to conduct will decrease at higher frequencies.
Thus, more or less, I guess, it has low pass properties - perhaps together with some "notches" due to resonance effects.
I disagree, this wire has no DC on it and it's across the signal so it's inductance is making it a high pass filter.
So, you assume a double wire, don`t you?
This proves how too little information allows us to interpret the question in so many ways
Anyway, all of us ignored the possibility that there might be radial resonance INSIDE the wire because of the cavity formed internal to the skin effect. I confidently predict, using all the information given, that wire is actually a bandpass filter, centered in the tens of THz region and furthermore, the center is unstable because of gravity fluctuations.
