Why CDMA BTS are equipped with GPS Modules?

As the BTS are Fixed, and may be manually the Lat-Lon Coordinates can be fed during installation of BTS.

The GPS is used not to provide position but an absolute time reference to synchronize all the Base stations in the network.

Try thinking to what happens if the TDM frames of each BTS are not perfectly aligned in the network.
