Inductor fabriction

Ok , I need to know why inductors cannot be fabricated. And why cannot we use the option of itching a spiral shaped tracks acting like inductor onto a chip.

Thanks

Inductor fabriction

They can be, but because they take up so much space on the die and you can't stack them they're not cost effective or able to produce inductances that are very high. I'm not sure but there may be other problems having an inductor that closely coupled to the rest of the die.

Re: Inductor fabriction

Yes they are not cost effective. But it can be made for higher frequencies since at higher frequencies the wire also acts as an inductor.

We can make inductor by using op amps, resistors and capacitor such as ANTONIU INDUCTANCE circuit. but these circuits can't reproduce the magnetic effect.

Re: Inductor fabriction

they are generally not fabricated because they aren't cost effective
they consume lot of space
their properties can't be idealised
