ethernet controller

hi,
i am designing an ethernet controller with using "davicom DM9000A". but there is a difference between all other ethernet controllers and davicom. on the ethernet transformer side all the other controllers does not have any connection to the CT pin of the transformer but davicom controllers have 2.5V power output for this pin. does anybody know why they need a power output like this?
best regards.
