ADS vs Momentum

Hello,

Why does ADS always show slightly different results than if done directly through layout using Momentum for exactly the same specs.

Someone told me Momentum solves maxwell/electromagnetic eqs. while ADS not.

Is this true?

Re: ADS vs Momentum

what you exactly mean? ads also has moment simulation, I guess you mean moment simulation is different from ads schematic simulation.
moment do field simulation while ads schematic only do the equation. so ads schematic does not simulate the coupling between component. for low freq, they fit quite well.

Re: ADS vs Momentum

@DS Does Small signal S-parameter analysis, where Momentum
does a 2.5-D EM Simulation/analysis. If you’re just looking at artwork
without any Actives, L,C, or R's Momentum should be more accurate.

Cheers

Re: ADS vs Momentum

u can use the two engins at the same time also , which is a very good feature in @DS , u can simulate the microtrip lines of the sturctures u want with momnetun and the all system then simulated with S parameter simulation

there is a flash movie on @gilent web site show how u can do this

@DS vs Momentum

to khouly,give me a superlink to the flash movie on Agilent web site,pls
thx
