When an I/O PAD with buffer provides 4mA is this peak or average current?

Hello,

I have a simple question. When an I/O PAD with buffer specifies that provides 4mA is this peak or average current?

See the documentation pdfs of your vendor..

I thinks its average value... for 0.35 process

average value is 2 mA. and peak value is 8mA. (for AMI vendor)...

usually maximum vendors provide average current.
